United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice. The UMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of missions through participation in the ministries and missions of the church.
The vision of the group is: Turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world.
At Emmaus, the United Methodist Women meet monthly on Sunday after the morning worship service. They organize activities that promote fellowship within the congregation and raise money to support such groups as Crisis Pregnancy Services, the Atlantic County Women’s Center, the Atlantic City Rescue Mission and the Camden Neighborhood Center.
The Emmaus Men’s Fellowship meets regularly for a time of spiritual growth and to organize many projects to support the needs of the church.
The men’s fellowship exists to declare the centrality of Christ in every man’s life. Men’s ministry leads to the spiritual growth of men and effective discipleship. This purpose is served as men are called to model the servant leadership of Jesus Christ. Membership is open to any man who indicates his desire to belong and to participate in the ministry of the Church through the Emmaus Men’s Fellowship.
Boy Scout Troop 77 is sponsored by Emmaus and meets in Higbee Hall. For more information about joining the Boy Scouts see more at BeAScout
